DirectFood.store is an online grocery store platform that provides local, fresh and organic food from local farmers and vendors to the local community. DirectFood.store aims to inspire and empower consumers to eat healthily, buy local, and explore the farm-to-table concept. Priority is placed on ensuring high-quality products, affordable pricing, and easy ordering, plus free contactless delivery. There are no warehouses or distributors involved; food is delivered directly to the consumer and arrives in its freshest state. DirectFood.store also aims to contribute to the environment’s long-term care while providing AI-driven analytics to help farmers and vendors make more sound business decisions to address specific challenges like tracking food’s journey through the supply chain.

Position: Social Media and Content Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Reporting directly to the Marketing Manager, you will work with our Marketing Team to manage our social media channels, blog and are responsible for the overall health of DirectFood.store’s content
  • As a tenacious and savvy social media expert, you will be building a content schedule combining excellent creative judgement about what engages our target audience with a much bigger, ambitious strategic mindset
  • Writing, editing and proofreading captivating copy to deliver exceptional SEO-driven content for the website, social channels, newsletters, emails and supporting additional content initiatives including landing pages, whitepapers, sponsored content and more for a variety of audiences, regions, and mediums
  • Executing the day-to-day operations of paid social campaigns including managing follows/followers, screening and replying to comments, content management, bid management, optimization, analysis and reporting of weekly/bi-weekly/monthly performance and trends
  • Build our influencer ambassadorship across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and other channels to create high-quality content that drives awareness and conversion
  • Incorporating our key messaging, editorial tone, style, and voice throughout all content and ensuring a cohesive narrative across multiple channels with brand consistency
  • Collaborating cross-functionally to manage and execute social and other marketing campaigns
  • Writing and editing as needed to support other brands under the i-Open Group
  • Actively participating in content brainstorming sessions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, English or related
  • 3+ years of professional social media, content creation and content marketing experience
  • Highly computer literate and advanced knowledge of Ads Manager, Social Pilot, Google Analytics, Trends, Campaign URL Builder, YouTube Studio, Bitly, Feedly, Canva, Biteable, MS Excel, native social analytics tools and other reporting tools
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with an eye for engaging copy accuracy and grammar
  • Intentional listener with a strong ability to interpret into a compelling copy
  • Relevant experience building relationships with digital community members including but not limited to influencers, ambassadors, and customers
  • Cross-channel storyteller – able to tell stories using words, images, videos or audio
  • Calm demeanour with a bias for action and taking the initiative to ensure results
  • Passion for supporting local and the mission of DirectFood.store

Additional Details

Location: This role will require you to work from our offices in Abbotsford, BC. There is no expected work-related travel unless specified by management.

Work Arrangement: Full-Time, Monday to Friday 8:30 am-5:00 pm

Start Date: As soon as possible
