Overview

The Quality Assurance Support Specialist is directly accountable and responsible for the overall quality of the work product(s). From receipt of incoming materials to distribution of a finished product on all Directfood.Store projects, the Quality Assurance Support Specialist ensures software development and related deliverables comply with company requirements and quality specifications. The Quality Assurance Support Specialist position will be expected to learn product line and oversee the testing, monitoring and measuring of software solutions to ensure they meet quality compliance. This position requires a highly-motivated self-starter who works well as part of a team and individually.

Another aspect of the Quality Assurance Support Specialist duties and responsibilities are to interface with the development team, the services team and the customer support team in performing product and service related duties that support our internal and external business objectives. These are a wide range of activities including but not limited to:

  • Technical: Troubleshooting technical issues such as hardware, software, and networking issues
  • IT: Working closely with IT staff and performing a variety of IT related duties
  • Customer Support: Working closely with customer support and aiding customer requests, logging bugs into Toggl
  • Development: Overseeing the production deployments ensuring that all staff members involved in the process play their part, coordinating the process to completion and/or rollback
  • Marketing: Participating in preparing marketing material, responding to RFP’s, preparing quotations, preparing service requests and supporting business engagements
  • Project Management: Assisting the project management process by updating raw project data, updating reports, executing, monitoring and controlling processes.
  • Training: training and onboarding new staff
  • Product Knowledge: expanding product knowledge and providing demos and knowing the products extremely well so that you can QC the products and train others to QC

Job Description

  • Understand the project execution plan and coordinate QC procedures at appropriate stages of the work, in line with the project schedule
  • Establish the Quality Management Plan as part of the company’s ongoing quality control and quality assurance plan
  • Implement the plan and devise the QC function for the company putting into the effect all QC procedures and processes
  • Conduct daily inspections and check to assure that all software products have been tested and meet quality control standards
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; with excellent organizational skills
  • Identify training needs of associates
  • Identify and record errors in Toggl; create reports and submit regular updates to Supervisor
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of maintaining frequent contact with upper management and/or internal staff
  • Duties may include reassignment to alternate operational areas as business needs require

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous relevant experience in quality control, within warehouse/commercial construction/manufacturing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word, Toggl
  • Exceptional time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and challenges daily
  • Must be diligent and thorough.
  • Must use critical thinking and be able to solve problems and trouble shoot in controlled fashion
  • Display strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess well-developed interpersonal skills including: effective listening skills and adeptness to work with diverse personalities
  • Ability to work flexibly and on own initiative
  • Interact and respond professionally and timely with customers, vendors, management, and other stakeholders
  • Critical eye and an attention to detail
  • Provable track record of consistently meet deadliness

Additional Details

Location: This role will work from our offices in Abbotsford, B.C. There is no expected work-related travel, unless specified by management.

Work Arrangement: Full-Time, Monday to Friday 8:30am-5pm

Start Date: As soon as possible
